Homeless Ministry

Skid Row Ministry

We are a group of Christ followers committed to love the homeless at Skid Row. While we do provide some physical help in the form of food, clothes, and personal hygiene products, our main purpose is to meet the need for friendship and to build a bridge to meet their true need - the need for a Savior. We strive to demonstrate the love of Christ in the way we love their community and each other while prayerfully looking for gospel opportunities. Every Sunday, we spend 2-3 hours talking, listening, sharing, worshiping the Lord, praying, and sharing the hope of Jesus to whoever God brings us to.

Please contact Lily Chan (lilychan@cefc.org) for more details.

Isaiah 58:6-7;10
  • 6. Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
    to set the oppressed free
    and break every yoke?
  • 7. Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter -
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
  • 10. ...and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
